Head over heels for gadgets!
Believe it or not, I've never played multiplayer in Gears of War 2. Yes, I've done the campaign mode in co-op, but for all intensive purposes, I'll separate multiplayer and co-op as different.
Last night, that all changed though. My good friend and I found some time and tried out horde mode together. Horde mode essentially pits you and up to 4 other players against waves of the horde. There are 50 "waves" in all, and after every 10 levels, the horde will get tougher and tougher. They will increase in health, strength and have a more accurate shot.
Fortunately there are tons of weapons and ammo throughout the maps. You can also pickup weapons from the fallen enemies. After completing a wave, the ammo in some weapons will automatically refresh along with the ammo boxes throughout the map.
Should you die during the round, you'll be allowed to view the other members on your team and you can also take photos. Unfortunately it looks like Epic Games is making some changes to the photo system so I cannot show you some of my beautiful photography skills! That said, if all members on your team die it's game over!
Last night, I managed to get to the 16th round before all members of my team died. Almost made it halfway through Horde mode. I have a feeling that won't be the last time I play it though. It's really fun, pure shoot em' up action! It's definitely the way to go if you're looking for some quick crazy action! It definitely doesn't hurt to employ some strategy though. I can only imagine how difficult some of the levels get!
Anyone out there reach level 50, or even better complete horde mode?
